Introduction
Our first stop on this month's filming locations then and now video tour takes us to back to 1983 and the filming locations from the music video for the Madonna song Borderline. Most of these filming locations - with the exception of one - look just as they did back in '83.
Laurel and Hardy attempt to go on a picnic, but their cranky car is not cooperating as you'll see in our visit to the filming location used in their 1929 movie Perfect Day. The Our Gang / The Little Rascals kids are also having problems getting their camping trip under way in the 1930 movie Bear Shooters, filmed in an alley on the Westside of LA.
We wrap up our tour of Los Angeles area filming locations with a ride alongside the paramedics of "Squad 51" in a 1974 episode of the TV series Emergency!

Madonna - Borderline (Music Video) (1983)
The Plot
Madonna is hanging out with her boyfriend and their friends when a photographer spots her and brings her to his studio where he photographs her. Her photos appear in fashion magazines and she becomes famous, but ultimately decides to return to her boyfriend and her old life.
Downtown Los Angeles Filming Locations Then And Now
The music video for Borderline was filmed in what is known today as the Arts District near downtown Los Angeles. Many of the filming locations that we see in the video haven't changed at all since 1983. Keep an eye out for a great view of the early '80s Downtown Los Angeles skyline from the historic 4th Street Bridge!
However, as you'll see in the video, the building featuring the pool game scene sadly no longer stands.

The Plot
It's a perfect day for a picnic and Laurel and Hardy, along with their wives, Uncle Edgar Kennedy and the family dog attempt to drive out to to the countryside, but their cranky Model T Ford foils their plans.
Two Homes That Have Become World Famous Filming Locations
The filming location for Perfect Day was the house located at 3120 Vera Avenue on the Westside of Los Angeles. The neighboring house at 3116 Vera Avenue also is prominently featured in the movie.
Virtually unchanged since this movie was made 95 years ago, today each would sell for over $1 million according to Zillow!

The Plot
The Gang has constructed an unforgettable looking "camper" and head out on a camping trip.
An Often Used Our Gang / The Little Rascals Filming Location
A favorite location for the makers of the Our Gang / The Little Rascals films was in the Palms neighborhood of Los Angeles, and that's the area covered in this video.
The then and now comparisons dramatically show the changes this area has undergone since 1930. The alleys and streets are the same, but the wide open spaces seen in the 1930 film have been replaced by a very densely developed neighborhood.

The Plot
The paramedics of "Squad 51" are called to a strip club where one of the dancers has fallen ill.
The Famous Squad 51 Fire Station Filming Location
Seen several times in each episode, the real-life fire station in Carson, California starts off this part of our filming locations tour. The building is in great shape and totally unchanged since Emergency! filmed here in the 1970s.
The Strip Club Filming Location
We tag along to the site of the "strip club" - a building in the San Fernando Valley that is still standing, though there have been some cosmetic changes to the front of the building.
