The Royal Hawaiian Resort As Filming Location
During the 1972 season, the producers of The Brady Bunch TV series packed up the cast and crew and headed over to Honolulu, Hawaii. This episode, Hawaii Bound, was the result and it provides us with some great views of the city and the island of Oahu in the early 1970s.
In the filming location then and now photo above, the scene is a hula dancing lesson, filmed on the back lawn of The Royal Hawaiian Resort at 2259 Kalākaua Ave, Honolulu. The lawn has retained the same dimensions today, and the beach walk is also unchanged.

Filming Location - The Brady Bunch At The Beach
Sans Souci State Recreational Park, just south of Owls Beach at 2749 Kalākaua Avenue, was the filming location for this scene from Hawaii Bound.
In the then and now filming location photo above, the Waikiki Beach skyline was already being built up when this episode of The Brady Bunch filmed here in 1972. As you can see in the modern view above, the skyline has filled in quite a bit since then, and the beach has eroded quite a bit.

Charley Chase - Hasty Marriage (1931)
Priceless Views Of A Long Lost Los Angeles Streetcar Line
This Charley Chase comedy short, Hasty Marriage, features quite a bit of on location filming, with the bulk of it happening on a stretch of Second Avenue between West 48th Street and West 54th Street in the South Central section of Los Angeles.
The streetcar tracks and overhead electric wires are long gone, however Second Avenue remains far wider than the other North/South streets in the area due to the fact that the streetcar tracks used to run right down the middle of the street.
In the then and now filming location photo above, that's 4819 2nd Avenue, (built in 1914) on the left. 4815 2nd Avenue, built in 1922, is on the right.

Charley Chase - Hasty Marriage (1931)
A Filming Location Time Capsule
When Charley Chase filmed Hasty Marriage in 1931, two streetcar companies provided passenger train service throughout the Los Angeles area, with very little overlap of routes. Those two companies were:
- The Pacific Electric Railway - Known as the "red car" lines
- The Los Angeles Railway - Known as the "yellow car" lines
In the then and now filming location photo above, we're at the corner of Second Avenue and West 54th Street, looking north up Second Avenue. The extra wide dimensions of Second Avenue are a mystery today - unless you know that the reason is that there used to be a set of Los Angeles Railway streetcar tracks in the middle of the street!
